The 2022 edition of Chambers USA features Doug Alexander, Kirsten Castañeda, Kevin Dubose, Robert Dubose, Rachel Ekery, Charlie Frazier, Marcy Hogan Greer, Wallace B. Jefferson, and Amy Warr ranked in Texas Litigation: Appellate. ADJ is one of only three firms ranked in Band 1 in Texas Litigation: Appellate this year.

The 2022 edition of Texas Super Lawyers by Thomson Reuters lists 11 lawyers from ADJ in Appellate Law: Alex Wilson Albright, Doug Alexander, Kirsten M. Castañeda, Kevin Dubose, Robert Dubose, Rachel Ekery, Charlie Frazier, Marcy Hogan Greer, Wallace B. Jefferson, Melanie Plowman, and Amy Warr. Also, four ADJ lawyers made specific “Top” lists: Doug Alexander (Top 10 Texas), Kevin Dubose (Top 100 Houston), and Marcy Hogan Greer (Top 50 Central/West Texas; Top 50 Women) and Wallace B. Jefferson (Top 50 Central/West Texas).

U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers ranked ADJ as a National Tier 1 firm in Appellate practice in their 2023 “Best Law Firms” rankings. Additionally, the Austin, Houston, and Dallas offices each received Metropolitan Tier 1 rankings in Appellate Practice, with Austin also recognized in Tier 1 for Bet-the-Company Litigation and Commercial Litigation, Dallas recognized in Tier 2 for Commercial Litigation, and Houston recognized in Tier 2 for Bet-the-Company Litigation.

Marcy Hogan Greer is the recipient of the 2021 Gregory S. Coleman Outstanding Appellate Lawyer Award from the Texas Bar Foundation. The award recipients exhibit an outstanding appellate practice while maintaining a strong commitment to providing legal services for the underserved.

Kevin Dubose was honored with the Texas Bar Foundation’s 2020 Lola Wright Foundation Award. This award is presented in recognition of outstanding public service in advancing and enhancing legal ethics in Texas.

The Legal 500 recognizes Dan Geyser as one of the nation’s leading Supreme Court and appellate lawyers.

Kirsten Castañeda, Charlie Frazier and Dan Geyser have been selected to D Magazine’s “Best Lawyers in Dallas for 2020.”

Amy Warr was honored with the 2019 Frank J. Scurlock Award from the State Bar of Texas. This award, named for the first chair of the Legal Services to the Poor in Civil Matters Committee, honors an attorney who has provided outstanding pro bono work.

Corporate INTL Magazine selected ADJ to win the 2016 Legal Award for Appellate Law Firm of the Year in Texas.

The Travis County Women Lawyers Association honored two ADJ attorneys in 2015. Marcy Greer received the Appellate Litigation Award, and Amy Warr received the Pro Bono Award.

ELECTED & APPOINTED POSITIONS

Kevin Dubose serves as President of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers and Chair of the Board of the Texas Center for Legal Ethics.

Wallace B. Jefferson was appointed by the Supreme Court of Texas to serve on the Texas Commission on Judicial Selection.

Alex Wilson Albright was recently reappointed to the Texas State Bar Pattern Jury Charge Oversight Committee and the Texas Supreme Court Rules Advisory Committee. She was appointed co-chair of the Supreme Court’s Judicial Bypass Rules Ad Hoc Committee, and, after the final rules were published, was invited to speak to the District & County Clerks and the District Judges about the new rules. Also, new editions of her Texas Civil Procedure casebook, TEXAS COURTS: A SURVEY (Imprimatur Press), and her HANDBOOK ON TEXAS DISCOVERY PRACTICE (West Texas Practice Series)(co-authored with Charles F. Herring Jr.) were published this year.

Marcy Hogan Greer was recently appointed to the Supreme Court of Texas’ Remote Proceedings Task Force and reappointed to the Texas Supreme Court Rules Advisory Committee.

Charlie Frazier was appointed Chair of the Appellate Law Section of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel.
